SLOW AND ADVANCED LEARNER PROGRAM
Slow Learner Programme :
Objectives
- Strengthen students' understanding of basic Sanskrit grammar and vocabulary.
- Improve reading, translation, and writing skills.
- Enhance confidence in answering university examination questions.
- Reduce learning gaps through individual attention.
Activities
- Remedial classes (1 hour per week).
- Simplified class notes in Sanskrit and Bengali.
- Extra grammar practice (Sandhi, Samasa, Karaka, Dhatu, Shabdarupa).
- Weekly doubt-clearing sessions.
- Oral reading and translation practice.
- Short class tests and assignments.
- Peer learning with advanced learners.
Advanced Learner Programme :
Objectives
- Develop higher-order analytical and research skills.
- Prepare students for competitive examinations (NET, SET, CUET-PG).
- Encourage research aptitude and academic writing.
- Promote leadership in academic activities.
Activities
- Advanced text reading (Vedas, Upanishads, Mahakavya, Darshana).
- Student seminars and paper presentations.
- Quiz and Sanskrit recitation competitions.
- Spoken Sanskrit workshops.
- Research article/book review assignments.
- Guidance for NET/SET and postgraduate entrance examinations.
MENTOR - MENTEE PROGRAMME
Objectives :
- Strengthen teacher–student interaction.
- Improve academic performance and attendance.
- Identify slow and advanced learners.
- Guide students regarding scholarships, examinations, and career opportunities.
- Promote Sanskrit speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Encourage participation in seminars, NSS, cultural programmes, and research activities.
- Provide personal counselling whenever required.
Activities :
- Academic counselling and study planning.
- Sanskrit conversation (संस्कृत सम्भाषणम्).
- Remedial classes for slow learners.
- Advanced learning and research guidance for meritorious students.
- Career counselling (NET, SET, CSC, B.Ed., PG, Competitive Examinations).
- Personality development and communication skills.
- Value education based on Indian Knowledge System (IKS).
- Regular monitoring of attendance and internal assessment.
PARENTS TEACHER'S MEETING
Objectives :
- Discuss students' academic progress and attendance.
- Review internal assessment and semester examination performance.
- Identify slow and advanced learners and suggest appropriate support.
- Encourage regular class attendance and participation in departmental activities.
- Inform parents about career opportunities in Sanskrit (Higher Studies, NET/SET, B.Ed., School Service, Research, Civil Services, etc.).
- Collect parents' feedback and suggestions for improving the department. Effective PTMs help strengthen communication between teachers and families while supporting students' academic development.
