Netaji Mahavidyalaya regularly organizes sky-watching camps and seminars to foster astronomical interest and curiosity beyond the classroom, and these are conducted by the Sky-Watching Sub-committee {Hyperlink to the sky-watching subcommittee} of the college.
1) The college is equipped with a Galilean refracting telescope and a Newtonian reflecting telescope, which aid students in viewing the Moon, planets, stars, and celestial objects.
2) The camp provides practical, real-time, hands-on experience in astronomical observation.
3) They can identify the current positions of different celestial objects by viewing them in the night sky.
4) In addition, seminars are held to discuss astronomical objects, facts, events, and history through presentations, lectures, and interactive sessions with faculty, experts, and students, to enhance theoretical knowledge in space science.
