Netaji Mahavidyalaya

The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, was legislated by the Parliament on June 15, 2005 which enables citizens to request information from authorities under public control. This initiative has been taken to promote transparency and accountability in governance and ensure participatory democracy. It allows citizens to examine documents, data, and activities to reduce corruption. All Government and Government-aided Universities and Colleges fall under the purview of public authorities. As per the RTI Act, the Higher Education Department, West Bengal Government, and UGC guidelines, Dr. Sachchidananda Roy, the Principal of Netaji Mahavidyalaya, hereby declares that the college is a “Grant-in-Aid” College and is affiliated to Burdwan University, a public state university of West Bengal, which implements the RTI Act. The college has established the RTI Cell on -------------- with an Appellate Authority and a State Public Information Officer (SPIO), which facilitates compliance with the Act’s provisions. Each financial transaction is audited by the auditors recommended by the Director of Public Instruction (DPI), the Education Directorate and the West Bengal Government. The college consists of a Governing Body, an IQAC, several academic and administrative committees, and a finance committee.
