About the Department:
The Department of Santali of Netaji Mahavidyalaya was established on 1 August 2008 under the initiative of Sri Vinod Das. The Santali General Course was introduced in the same year, followed by the Honours Course in 2009. Since its inception, the Department has been playing a significant role in the promotion and preservation of Santali language, literature, culture, and heritage, while striving for academic excellence.
Besides regular teaching, the Department organizes seminars, literary and cultural activities throughout the year. It also publishes its departmental wall magazine, "AYUR," providing students with a platform to nurture their literary, creative, and intellectual potential.

Departmental Activities:
- The Department regularly organizes student seminars, group discussions, workshops, and other academic activities.
- Mentor–Mentee meetings are conducted periodically to monitor students' academic progress and provide guidance.
- The Department celebrates Santali Language Day, Hul Diwas, International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, and Teachers' Day through academic, literary, and cultural programmes.
- The Department publishes its wall magazine, "AYUR," to encourage students' literary, creative, and intellectual development.
- Literary, cultural, and co-curricular activities are organized regularly for the holistic development of students.
- Guidance and counselling are provided to students regarding higher education, research, scholarships, career opportunities, and competitive examinations.
- .Before examinations, the Department arranges special revision classes and academic support sessions to help students prepare effectively.

- To expand literary, cultural, and extension activities for the preservation and promotion of Sant language, literature, culture, and heritage.
