About the Department
Department of Environmental Science is the youngest department of this college. It starts its B.Sc. Honours since July, 2005 and B.Sc. General since 2007. The department traverses a broad range of academic pursuits across natural sciences and social sciences, to promote education and research on the interactions between the natural environment and human activities. The informal environment and team work of the department makes for an easy and interactive atmosphere conducive for learning and personality development. To cope up with the CBCS and NEP 2020 curriculum, the department has developed commendable laboratory infrastructures for the benefit of the undergraduate students. Now this department have three well equipped laboratories, Smart classroom, seminar library with adequate number (285) of reference and text books. Apart from curriculum department has diversified research interest in various field of earth, atmospheric, chemical and biological processes of environment. We also publish wall magazine “Envirolution” every year. Department consider the educational tour of the students seriously. As a part of commitment to the students to ensure they are gathering filed knowledge about the real environment and different industrial pollution activity. To fulfill one of the main aims of educational excursion, department also organize a visit to different reputed national and international universities and institutes.

Provide excellent education for future Environmental scientists to serve the humanity through expansion and dissemination of environmental knowledge.
Mission:
- Use of a wide range of environmental approaches and methodologies so that they can play a leading role in the development and implementation of environmental management principles and practices at the local and global levels.
- Understanding of natural changes in the environment, challenges in supplies of natural resources, protection of environment and to monitor and predict the impacts of pollution.
- The department educates visionary, pragmatic leaders in a collaborative interdisciplinary setting that is founded on academic excellence and the principles of environmental justice and sustainability.
