Netaji Mahavidyalaya

Dr. Pijush Bera has been serving as a State Aided College Teacher (Category-I) in the Department of Bengali (UG & PG) at Netaji Mahavidyalaya since September 2, 2013. For more than a decade, he has devoted himself to teaching, mentoring students, and contributing to academic life. He believes that education is not merely the transfer of knowledge but the awakening of curiosity and independent thought.

Since 2014, he has been associated with Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) as a BDP Counsellor in Bengali. Since 2013, he has also been writing academic and educational materials, making Bengali language and literature more accessible to students and readers. As a member of the College Cultural Sub-Committee, he actively supports literary, cultural, and co-curricular activities, believing that education grows both inside and outside the classroom.

His research interests lie in modern literature, with special emphasis on modern Bengali literature, literary criticism, and contemporary literary studies. He earned his doctorate from the University of Burdwan, where he explored the relationship between sociology, politics, and contemporary literature. His research reflects his interest in understanding how literature responds to society and human experience.

Dr. Bera is deeply devoted to his students and approaches teaching with enthusiasm, patience, and positive energy. He enjoys exploring new ideas and encourages students to ask questions, think critically, and read with sensitivity. He is the author of several books, and his research articles published in national and international journals contribute to academic discussions while enriching students' understanding of literature. Through teaching, writing, and research, he continues to inspire young minds to see literature not only as a subject of study but also as a way of understanding life, society, and humanity.
