Detailed Profile

Dr. Tanmoy Karan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Netaji Mahavidyalaya, Arambag, Hooghly, West Bengal, with over 15 years of experience in higher education. His principal research specialization is the application of Remote Sensing and GIS, with particular expertise in spatial data analysis, digital cartography, thematic mapping, and geospatial technologies.

His teaching interests include Geomorphology, Cartographic Technique, Remote Sensing and GIS, Cartograms and Thematic Mapping, Environmental Geography, Economic Geography, and Indian Knowledge System.

His academic work emphasizes innovative teaching, student mentoring, and interdisciplinary research, with a particular interest in applying geospatial technologies to sustainable development.
