About The Department

The Department was established in 2007 under the guidance of the University of Burdwan and Mr. Susanta Mallick, Miss Nazia Parveen and Mr. Ramanuj Mukhopadhyay along with some guest faculties. Computer Science is the most sought-after branch for the 12th passed students that come to the institute. With an earlier initiative of some competent computer professionals working in the computer centre, the first undergraduate batch rolled out in the year 2010 with excellent result. Our graduates have distinguished themselves in higher studies at the top Universities.

In the year 2009 college appointed Mr. Santanu De and Mr. Pradip Kanti Mallick as per the govt. norms. In the year 2010 the department got its first permanent teacher Mr. Ajit Kumar Singh (Present H.O.D.) and department started three years General Course under the same University. Now the department try to stand in its own feet. Two new faculties Mr. Saurav Sarkar and Mrs. Bipasa Sen appointed by the college as per the govt. norms in the department in the year 2010.

A new chapter was added in Computer Science department in the year 2010 when the college started a new Honours course in Computer Application [B.C.A.(H)]. This is a self-financing course and one of the best options after 10+2 levels. Initially B.C.A. (H) and B.Sc (H) shared the same laboratory. But in 2011 a new Software Lab for B.C.A. (H) was established with thirty (30) computers and a Kyan Projector.

Our first batch rolled out in 2013 with good number of first class. Most of the students took admission in MCA by qualifying JECA (Joint Entrance for Admission in Master of Computer Application) and some others are admitted in other states like Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh etc.

• Almost every year we arrange for educational excursion involving students and teachers of the Department where we visit institutes of National and International repute.
