Experience Records / Positions Held:
i) Teaching and Research experience: 25 years, including 14 years teaching experience
as Associate Professor.
ii) Experience on performing the responsibility of the department as HOD.
iii) Experience on performing the responsibility of the UGC sponsored National Seminar
on Food Security, 9-10 Feb 2017 and subsequent publication of the proceedings of
the seminar as Convener.
iv) Convener of an Annual Multidisciplinary Refereed Journal of the college, FOCUS.
v) Research Guide: Guided two Research Scholars who have been awarded Ph. D
degree in 2018 by the University of Burdwan.
vi) Experience of acting as a member of BOS in Plant Protection.

vii) Experience of attending workshop at BU for revision / re- construction of B. Sc.
Botany syllabus both Honours and General courses.
viii) Experience of writing of the books: 2 books.
ix) Experience of acting as Assistant Secretary of the Teachers’ Council as well as
Teacher- in – Charge of the college very often. Plus experience of performing the
responsibility of the governing Body of the college as a G.B member.
x) Experience of Social Works such as, Plantation of trees, medicinal plants, AIDS
awareness program etc. in the NSS team of the college as Program Officer.

Dr. J.K.Pal completed the U.G.C sponsored Minor Research Project entitled,”
Melissopalynological investigation in Arambagh Sub – division of Hooghly District , West
Bengal” in the year 2001 – 2003. Recently one Major research Project on “Monitoring of pollen
incidence in the atmosphere of Hooghly district , West Bengal with reference to allergic
disorders “ in the name of Dr. J. K. Pal as Principal Investigator was approved by the U.G.C ,
and the project has been completed successfully in December 2015.
Two Research scholars has been worked their research works under the supervision of Dr, J. K.
Pal.
Dr. Sayani Biswas has been awarded her Ph. D degree under the joint supervision of Prof.
Ambarish Mukherjee , Department of Botany , University of Burdwan and Dr. J. K. pal ,
Department of botany , Netaji Mahavidyalaya in the year 2018. Dr. Biswas is now working as a
Faculty member in the department of Botany of the college.
Dr. Pritha Bhattacharya ( Sasmal ) has been awarded her Ph. D degree under the supervision of
Dr.J. K. Pal , Department of Botany , Netaji Mahavidyalaya in the year 2018. The research
papers of Dr. Biswas and Dr. Bhattacharya (Sasmal) has been cited in Google Scholar Citation.
Awards and Honours : Silver Medal (1 st class 2 nd position in the university) during M. Sc. in the
year 1985 at NBU.
